Our rock climbing holidays and adventure courses are based from Sella, on the Costa Blanca in Spain.
Forty minutes from Alicante airport, this area has the best winter weather in Europe and is home to thousands of fantastic routes, precisely the reason why numerous tourists continue to hunt for cheap airfare bound to these parts during this time of the year. Just a short drive either way up the coast or inland will take you to the vast selection of crags in the Costa Blanca. There is a huge variety of rock climbing to be found here. One day you’ll be clipping bolts on a single pitch crag, the next you’ll be enjoying a long mountain route or an exposed via ferrata.
Rock climbing holidays and courses
Intro To Sport Climbing - movement skills on rock, ropework and knots, choice and use of equipment, belaying, seconding routes, lots of climbing more
Intro To Traditional Climbing - many people think that Spain is all about clipping bolts. There are also hundreds of trad routes on the Costa Blanca. These provide a great arena for learning movement skills, ropework and knots, choice and use of equipment, belaying, seconding routes and lots more
Learn to Lead - if you have spent a lot of time climbing on toprope or seconding a climbing partner, you may like to learn to lead in a safe environment and under the supervision of an instructor. Spain is an excellent place to learn to lead more
Intro to multi-pitch - this area of Spain offers a number of classic multi-pitch routes (both sport and trad) that offer a good starting point for an introduction to multi-pitch climbing. Routes of a few pitches to long day routes are an option more
Performance Sport Climbing Courses are designed to help you climb better and harder. Most people improve several grades during a course and develop a knowledge of what is required to continually improve their climbing. Tactics, technique, redpointing processes, mental training and much more
Private Guiding - gives you the option to climb the routes you want. There are dozens of long, multi-pitch classic routes such as Epsolon Central and Aristoteles on the Puig Campana and Via Valencianos on the Penon D’Ifach as well as hundreds of single pitch crags to choose from. Click here to see details of some classic climbs in the area.
Adventure courses, via ferrata and ridge scrambling
Via Ferrata were originally invented in Italy during WW1 to enable troops to travel quickly through mountainous terrain. They are now used for recreation and provide exhilerating experiences on big cliffs with easy access. There are 3 Via Ferrata in the Costa Blanca area - see the topos page for details. Learn all you need to know to tackle Via Ferrata independently and safely: lanyard systems, movement techniques using rungs and rock, assessing the quality of fixed equipment, techniques for retreat and more
The Bernia Ridge offers a unique mountaineering experience comparable to, but shorter than, the Skye Ridge. It is an excellent place to learn scrambling techniques and ropework while enjoying the breathtaking exposure and grand panoramas. It is also good preparation for those who wish to undertake greater challenges such as the Skye Ridge. The Bernia Ridge is usually completed in stages over 2 separate days - this allows time for learning skills along the way. It is possible to complete a full traverse in a day for those with a suitable level of fitness and experience more
