Andy and Sean
Andy and Sean took part in a performance coaching course and climbed at Marin, Toix, Gandia and Echo Valley. They worked on movement skills and the processes of redpointing, including fall training. Sean completed his first lead on the course and progressed to leading F5+. Andy had previously led to F5+ and managed to improve his grade to F6b. During this week I was working for The Orange House.
Vic and Jerry
Here, Vic and Jerry are seen atop the Bernia Ridge. They both have previous experience in the mountains and spent a day rock climbing before undertaking a traverse of half the ridge. Vic stayed on for the rest of the week and returned to complete the whole ridge as well as climbing the Ponoch via ferrata.
Tom and Matt
Tom and Matt wanted an adrenaline-filled course before heading off to university. They enjoyed several days’ rock climbing at Sella and Toix, got some serious exposure on the Ponoch via ferrata, and had the biggest rush of all on a bridge jump in the Mascarat Gorge.
The London Posse
The “London Posse” had three days’ climbing at Olta, Sella and Toix Tropical Dreams. They also enjoyed a big night out in Benidorm and a cracking meal at the Perro Negro in Altea!
HMS York
HMS York was docked up in Alicante for four days while the crew enjoyed some well-earned leave. Twelve of the crew enjoyed a day’s intro to rock climbing at Toix Far Oeste.
